Dr. Abbie Mork, Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Abbie Mork has a passion for helping people improve their health. She is not like most chiropractors in the Des Moines area where you will be in and out in minutes. She enjoys getting to know her patients and helping people find there own internal motivation to make a change in their life. Chiropractic, acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, fitness, and nutrition are the tools she uses to help people make life-style changes and develop healthy habits.
She was born and raised in Adel just west of Des Moines. While in high school she was very active in sports such as softball, volleyball and golf. After graduating in 2002 Dr. Abbie attended The University of Iowa. In 2006 she received a bachelors degree in sociology and also completed all of the prerequisites required to attend chiropractic school.
In the summer of 2006 she started Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While attending school she had jobs that included being a research assistant, a rehabilitation intern and a clinical teaching assistant. She was also involved in Sports Council where they provided free chiropractic care to athletes and supporters at local sporting events. Also, she did a clinic abroad trip to Honduras where they provided free chiropractic services and provided education on chiropractic and its’ value in overall wellness. Also, while at school she completed the Certified Chiropractic Extremities Practitioner (C.C.E.P.) program. In February of 2010 she graduated from Palmer with hopes of finding employment in and around the Des Moines area.
Since graduating she has continued to receive continued education to help her better serve her patients. Some of those include:
- 2011 she completed the program to become a Certified Chiropractic Acupuncturist
- 2011 she completed the Corrective Exercise Specialist through NASM.
- 2012 she became a certified instructor for the local Red Cross to teach CPR, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens.
- 2016 she received her state level judging certification for the USA Powerlifting federation

Outside the office
When Dr. Abbie is not at the clinic treating patients you will often find her spending time with family and friends. Her parents are Terry and Dana and she has two older sisters Erin and Shelby who are both married. They have given her four adorable nephews August, Johnny, Max, and Charlie. If she is not with family or friends you will most likely find her at 22nd Street Barbell where she trains clients and strength trains herself, which allows her keep up with the physical demands of being a chiropractor.
If you have already visited the office you have most likely had the pleasure of meeting Tank, her English Bulldog, who is with her most days of the week. Tank enjoys meeting everyone, but spends most of his time sleeping under his mom's desk. So, if you hear snoring in the office you know Tank is close by.
